Terms of Service & Marketplace Policies
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Slabsta is operated by BlockPay LLC ("Slabsta", "we"). By using the Slabsta app or website you agree to these terms.
1. What Slabsta is
Slabsta is a marketplace where independent sellers list comic books for sale to buyers. Slabsta is not the seller of items listed by users. Price estimates and "market value" figures are informational estimates based on sales data and are not appraisals or guarantees.
2. Accounts
You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to buy or sell. Keep your account secure; you are responsible for activity on it. Sellers must complete identity verification with our payments partner, Stripe, before receiving payouts.
3. Comics only
Slabsta is a comics-only marketplace. Allowed: comic books, graphic novels, magazines and manga, raw or professionally graded (CGC, CBCS, PGX). Lots and bundles of comics are allowed.
4. Prohibited items and conduct
- Counterfeits, unauthorized reprints or facsimiles presented as originals, and tampered, resealed or fake grading slabs or labels.
- Items that are not comics (toys, cards, art prints, etc.), digital codes, and NFTs.
- Stolen goods, or items you do not own and possess.
- Undisclosed restoration (restored books must be disclosed and are usually graded with a purple/Qualified label).
- Sexually explicit material in listing photos, hateful content, or anything illegal to sell or ship.
- Shill bidding or price manipulation, fee avoidance (taking a Slabsta buyer off-platform), and harassment.
We may remove listings, withhold payouts tied to a violation, and suspend accounts.
5. Fees
| Who | Pays |
|---|---|
| Seller | $0 seller fees. Sellers receive 100% of the item price. |
| Buyer | Item price + shipping (by size tier: raw single $5.99, raw bundle $9.99, slab single $12.99, slabs 2–4 $19.99) + Buyer Protection fee of 8% of the item price + $0.99. |
Sales tax may be added where Slabsta is required to collect it as a marketplace facilitator. Shipping labels are prepaid by Slabsta and provided to the seller.
6. Payments and payouts
Payments are processed by Stripe. Buyer funds are held by Slabsta and released to the seller's Stripe account after (a) the buyer confirms receipt, or (b) 2 days after delivery per carrier tracking, whichever comes first, provided no problem has been reported.
7. Shipping
Sellers must ship within 3 business days of sale using the provided label, packaged appropriately (bag and board between rigid boards for raw books; slab sleeve and bubble or slab box for graded books). Slab shipments and orders over $1,000 are insured, and orders over $500 require a signature.
8. Buyer Protection and the 2-day inspection window
If you paid through Slabsta, you're covered when an item:
- does not arrive;
- arrives damaged in transit;
- is significantly not as described (wrong issue, undisclosed defects or restoration, a grade or label different from the listing, or counterfeit).
Report a problem in the app (Purchases → Report a problem) within 2 days of delivery and before confirming receipt. The seller's payout is placed on hold while we review. We may ask for photos and may require you to return the item (with a prepaid return label when the seller is at fault). Outcomes include a full refund, a partial refund, or release to the seller. Raw-book grading is subjective; a raw book is "not as described" only if its condition is materially worse than described or shown in photos. Buyer Protection does not cover buyer's remorse, and it does not cover purchases paid outside Slabsta.
9. Cancellations
Sellers who cannot fulfil an order should cancel it promptly; the buyer is fully refunded and the label is voided. Repeated cancellations may limit selling privileges.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, Slabsta's liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to Slabsta in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.
11. Disputes
Contact [email protected] first. [Governing law, venue, and any arbitration clause to be determined by counsel.]
12. Changes
We'll notify you of material changes in the app or by email before they take effect.
